The Housing Authority will organize a homebuyers' fair in June.
The Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) will hold its famous Homebuyers Fair next month, giving potential homeowners the opportunity to understand the ins and outs of buying a home.
The event, "Destination Homeownership," will be held on Saturday, June 21, at the University of Delaware's Clayton Hall Conference Center in Newark.
The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free and open to the general public.
Following a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fair is back to link prospective purchasers with real estate experts, bankers, inspectors, and attorneys.
Attendees can also learn about DSHA's lending programs, which offer down payment and closing cost help.
"We are excited to bring back DSHA's Homebuyers Fair, which has been on hiatus since the COVID-19 pandemic," stated DSHA Director Matthew Heckles. "This is a popular event for Delawareans looking to buy their first home or their next home and for those who are considering moving to the First State."
To better accommodate guests' schedules, the fair will be separated into three scheduled sections at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. Each session features complementary meals, family-friendly activities, prizes, and prize drawings.
DSHA is also looking for sponsors and exhibitors that want to interact with people who are actively looking into homeownership, home repairs, and financing possibilities.
We are pleased with the financing options that DSHA can provide to folks who require a little additional assistance in making homeownership a reality, and we look forward to presenting that information at "Destination Homeownership," Heckles stated.
Registration is now open, and more information about the event, including sponsorship options, may be found here.
